Dear Friends,
Last Sunday morning we heard in our reading Jesus say that “My yoke is easy and my burden is light”.
As I write this, it isn’t even 8am and the sun is brightly shining through my window. The grey, dark days of autumn and winter feel a long, long way off. There is so much summer sun. A time to relax, to take a break, to spend time with family and friends. A way of life less hurried, less burdened.
So it is with the way (yoke) of Jesus. We find that in following his teaching, life isn’t necessarily easier, but it is somehow lighter, more enjoyable, more “how it should be”.
Things to pray for
- Those who struggle when it gets too hot
- Peace, especially in places where it is fragile
- All those involved in preparing for the Abbeyfield Festival
